The king of the "Tchink System" Stan Tohon, had these awesome dancers onstage with him. Some mind rippling moves!!! Tchingoume is a traditional form of music known for its use of calabash water drums and unique dance style. Stan Tohon has modernized it with modern instruments and different tempos among other things.

The Zodji family drummers demonstrate the unique style of drumming/dancing known as Zenli. Lead drummer is Joel Gboja Zodji who was my teacher while in Agbomey. Like much of Fon music, note the long polyrhythmic cycles at play here...very deep music. And dig that dance style...wow.

The group responsible for the burial procedures in action. Led by Dah Zodji, these fellows, often brothers, relatives or close friends, are obligated to dig the grave for a deceased member of their neighbourhood. It takes the better part of a day and involves music, dance, food (at the end) and drink (during). Interestingly, these exact same people are the musicians in the previous Zenli clip.
